I have been in the print trade since 1988. I started as a machine minder, I trained five years at Barking college for a full apprenticeship whilst at my first job. Then moved to another printing company to run bigger presses. I then finally started my first company called Solopress in 1999. The company went from just a few employees in the first year up to over 125 staff at present. I am fully trained in every department of my company and love coming to work. I am very enthusiastic about Solopress and hope you will enjoy using us. When I'm not working I like spending time with my wife and my two children, playing badminton, and I am actively involved in the local council. I love going out drinking and having a good time.
Brought up in the print game, I left school and went to work with my dad who owned a successful printers. I worked there for two years before going alone. I worked this way for eight years before deciding to go into a partnership. Having known Aron through the print industry we set up Solopress with a mission to be better and faster than all our competition, this meant many early starts and just as many late nights, but 14 years on we have achieved this and are proud to employ more than 125 staff and turnover £10.3 million a year. Outside of work, I have two young children to care for. As a family we love to holiday, bike ride and socialise with friends and family. When I’m out without them my passion is sports cars. I drive to Le Mans every other year. I love Vegas, a good boxing match and rugby, and as you can see I'm an avid supporter of Movember!
Working for Solopress since 2006, I've gained much knowledge and many skills during my time here. As a senior technologist, my job role is to ensure that everything online runs smoothly. Whilst not at work I enjoy reading books and listening to the Stephen Fry podcasts. I also enjoy gardening, particularly propagating from cuttings. Seeing those little beauties grow really is quite lovely - and you can't go wrong with free plants. BBC iPlayer is another sponge of my sparetime. Of course I do also see my good friends.
I started working at Solopress in 2008. I am currently a senior technologist at the company, mainly overseeing our branding and website design. I enjoy what I do and the people I work with. Outside of here I enjoy music and going out and having a good time.
I joined Solopress in 2013, bringing with me 31 years experience in software and systems engineering, having worked for companies such as The Daily Telegraph and The Evening Standard. I am excited to be a part of the team that is taking Solopress forward into using new technologies. When not at work, I enjoy reading, playing board games and travel. But most important to me is time spent with my family and friends.
After graduating in 2011, I went on working as a freelancer in film and television. My biggest achievement was completing my graduation short film that went on to win an award at The Royal Television Society for Best Drama, as well as being nominated in lots of film festivals worldwide. When I'm not working I spend time with my friends and family, and working on my next short film.
I've always developed websites, since the age of 11 I took a massive interest in the tiny details of websites and how they function. Throughout the years I taught myself HTML, CSS and various other languages that got me into developing for some big clients. It only became natural for me to eventually strive towards getting both mine and my clients designs out there and from there I got into Marketing and SEO at the age of about 15, which has consumed me ever since. I love my job and I'm a workaholic but when I get the odd chance away from it I love reading, learning and socialising. I joined Solopress in 2013 in order to share my knowledge with the company and to learn from it as well. So far I’ve done a lot of both.
I joined Solopress in 2013 as a Web Designer and SEO/Digital Marketing assistant. I specialise in eCommerce, CMS websites and user experience. Over the past year I have worked with various companies, creating websites, writing copy and managing large and small scale SEO and PPC campaigns. Outside of work I enjoy gaming, playing guitar and harmonica and swimming. I joined Solopress in 2013 as a web designer. I have always been really interested in the Internet, and technology in general, so I decided to study multimedia technology and design at university. After my studies, I worked in sales for a couple of years in London, which paid for a year’s travel to South East Asia and Australia. Now working for Solopress as a web designer, I am able to gain the knowledge and skills to become a web guru. I spend my spare time with family and friends, going to gigs, cycling, playing football and checking out the latest gadgets.
Before joining Solopress in 2013 I worked for various online companies in London, and I cannot begin to describe the absolute joy of riding a bike to work for a 12 minute journey instead of a 2 hour slog by train! When I can be distracted long enough from my work, which I am very lucky to truly enjoy, my spare time revolves around design, arts, photography, cooking, learning new technologies, working on small personal projects, a rather nice rum called Brugal and probably more cooking.
I graduated from university in 2012 with a degree in physics. After working for 9 months I ran off travelling for three months and, upon returning, became a web developer at Solopress. I’m doing something I genuinely enjoy and love that I learn new things every day. In my spare time I enjoy teaching myself maths, physics and programming; travelling and overly laborious cooking.
They say Italians do it better and, of course, they are talking about web site development. So here I am, moved from Italy to join the fantastic team at Solopress. I've been running my small web agency in the past, but now it's time to grow with a more dynamic company. During my work experiences, I've been learning different programming languages and technologies. I even have a degree in Wood Technologies, so you can call me a 'web carpenter'. In my spare time, I love walking with my black dog named Neve (that's Snow in Italian, quite weird isn't it) and cooking. Maybe that was what they meant when talking about Italian skills?
