Lad os se p\u00e5, hvor ideen kom fra.<\/h3>\n<p>Fra de allerf\u00f8rste plader, der blev solgt i 1910 og frem til 1938, modtog man dem kun i et brunt konvolutlignende omslag med navnet p\u00e5 pladeselskabet. Det f\u00f8rste spring kom i 1920'erne, da tomme hylstre blev indbundet i store, boglignende \"albums\" baseret p\u00e5 konceptet med et fotoalbum, og igen lignede disse kort- eller l\u00e6derindbundne omslag langt mere indbundne b\u00f8ger end nutidens albums.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30691\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/electrola2.jpg\" alt=\"Albumcovers\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I 1938 ansatte Columbia Records <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alexsteinweiss.com\/as_index.html\">Alex Steinweiss<\/a> Som den allerf\u00f8rste kunstchef er det Steinweiss, der krediteres for udformningen af albumcoveret, som vi kender det i dag, og i den sidste del af 1940'erne fulgte mange store pladeselskaber trop med papircovers og originale designs. Udtrykket 'album' blev til sidst brugt til at beskrive de 12\" LP-plader (long playing), som spiller med 33<sup>1\/3<\/sup> RPM og blev i 1950'erne standardformatet for album.<\/p>\n<p>Dette koncept gav kunstnerne mulighed for at udtrykke sig med mere end bare musikken, og da industrien blomstrede i 1960'erne, kunne kunstnerne udtrykke sig gennem deres kunstv\u00e6rker s\u00e5vel som deres musik.
