Tilbage i oktober lancerede Solopress The Charity Print Prize Draw. Registrerede britiske velg\u00f8renhedsorganisationer blev inviteret til at deltage i en konkurrence om at vinde gratis tryk p\u00e5 500 kalendere og 5.000 julekort.<\/p>\n

Efter en fantastisk respons fandt lodtr\u00e6kningen sted, og det var en organisation ved navn Stepping Stone Theatre For Mental Health, der havde heldet med sig. Det viste sig dog, at vi var de heldige, da vi fik mulighed for at l\u00e6re Bill Rodgers fra Stepping Stone at kende og l\u00e6re alt om hans inspirerende gruppe af kunstnere og brugere.<\/p>\n

De f\u00f8rste skridt<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Stepping Stone-teatret for mental sundhed<\/a> startede for syv \u00e5r siden og fejrer seks \u00e5r som registreret velg\u00f8renhedsorganisation i juni. Den blev grundlagt af Bill og hans partner Kate Hull-Rodgers, efter at de havde set, hvad Bill beskriver som et \"hul i markedet\" med hensyn til tilbud om mental sundhed i deres hjemby Gainsborough i Lincolnshire.<\/p>\n

De mente, at mennesker, der lider af psykiske problemer, ville have gavn af at dele deres erfaringer med hinanden uden for et klinisk milj\u00f8. Derfor gik de i gang med at bruge deres talent og erfaring til at oprette en teatergruppe. Heldigvis er deres talent og erfaring stor!<\/p>\n

At s\u00e6tte scenen<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Bill har brugt mange \u00e5r p\u00e5 at spille, instruere og skrive for teatret, mens Kate er en kendt skuespiller, forfatter og performer, som ogs\u00e5 er en internationalt anerkendt foredragsholder om bipolar lidelse. Kates personlige historie som lidende har givet hende et v\u00e6ld af erfaringer omkring emner som hospitalsindl\u00e6ggelse og medicinering, som hun er i stand til at bringe ind i sit arbejde med gruppen.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Sammen har The Stepping Stone Theatre produceret seks store produktioner, som altid har f\u00e5et st\u00e5ende ovationer fra publikum. Forestillingerne behandler store emner som depression, selvmord, sorg og homofobi. Selv om de er f\u00f8lelsesladede at se p\u00e5, er de altid en gl\u00e6delig oplevelse, og der er altid en god dosis humor i blandingen. Karaktererne bryder ofte ud af handlingen for at henvende sig direkte til publikum. Disse dybf\u00f8lte monologer er med til at forklare, hvordan psykiske problemer p\u00e5virker karakterens f\u00f8lelser og adf\u00e6rd.<\/p>\n

H\u00f8j ydeevne<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Et af de seneste stykker, Round The Bend, foreg\u00e5r i to akter med 200 \u00e5rs mellemrum: den f\u00f8rste del i en galeanstalt i det 19. \u00e5rhundrede og den anden del i et 21. \u00e5rhundrede.st<\/sup> \u00e5rhundredes polterabend. Dette innovative format gjorde det muligt for gruppen at unders\u00f8ge historiske opfattelser af mental sundhed samt moderne holdninger, som blev udforsket i en monolog om angst skrevet af Kate.<\/p>\n

Ud over disse skels\u00e6ttende produktioner tilbyder Stepping Stone en r\u00e6kke andre aktiviteter, som er med til at st\u00f8tte brugerne og skabe et f\u00e6llesskab omkring gruppen. Ud over regelm\u00e6ssige workshops er der Drama Drop-In om tirsdagen og en g\u00e5gruppe, The Stepping Stone Strollers, der tager af sted hver s\u00f8ndag.<\/p>\n

At finde en stemme<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Centralt for Stepping Stones etos er ideen om 'vidnesbyrd'. Gruppen eksisterer for at give en stemme til mennesker, der k\u00e6mper med mental sundhed, for at give dem mulighed for at fort\u00e6lle deres historie, og m\u00e5ske vigtigst af alt, for at lytte. Det kan v\u00e6re efter en pr\u00f8ve over te og kage, under en g\u00e5tur p\u00e5 landet eller p\u00e5 scenen foran et publikum p\u00e5 flere hundrede. Denne bemyndigende tilgang er enormt v\u00e6rdsat af brugerne og \u00f8ger deres selvtillid og velv\u00e6re betydeligt.<\/p>\n

Coronavirus-pandemien var et h\u00e5rdt slag for gruppen. B\u00e5de deres teater og \u00f8velokale blev midlertidigt tvunget til at lukke deres d\u00f8re. Mens Stepping Stone Strollers var i stand til at forts\u00e6tte deres s\u00f8ndagsture p\u00e5 en socialt afbalanceret m\u00e5de, n\u00e5r restriktionerne tillod det, mistede gruppen vigtige muligheder for at komme i kontakt med hinanden, som de havde gjort f\u00f8r. De blev ogs\u00e5 tvunget til at udskyde deres seneste show, \"Have You Heard The One?\".<\/p>\n

En showstopper<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Til at begynde med st\u00f8ttede Kate medlemmerne ved at kontakte dem individuelt pr. telefon for at f\u00e5 en personlig samtale. Det var indtil Bill og Kates teknologikyndige s\u00f8n introducerede dem til onlinekonferencer og podcasting. Med et hastigt sammensat s\u00e6t af l\u00e5nt udstyr og software etablerede de hurtigt to ugentlige podcasts, der blev sendt fra deres haveskur.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Both Sides of the Medication Cart\" er Bill og Kates podcast, som bygger p\u00e5 deres egne erfaringer og diskuterer alle mulige emner, der p\u00e5virker dem, der lever med psykiske udfordringer, og deres plejere. Deres anden podcast, \"Lockdown Legacy\", inviterer g\u00e6ster til at diskutere deres oplevelser under pandemien, den indvirkning, den har haft p\u00e5 dem, og de foranstaltninger, de har truffet for at komme tilbage. Under hele Bill og Kates fantastiske rejse har et af deres mantraer v\u00e6ret at \"give dem noget, de kan tage med sig\". Solopress har v\u00e6ret til stede undervejs for at trykke reklamemateriale og handouts til mange af parrets fantastiske projekter, fra Plakater<\/a> og Flyvere<\/a> til Stepping Stone-klapvogne, til A5-kort og Brochurer<\/a> for Lockdown-arven. I \u00f8jeblikket arbejder vi sammen med Bill og Kate om at producere en kvartalsvis Wiro-indbundet brochure <\/a>med en oversigt over gruppens aktiviteter, herunder kreative bidrag fra brugerne selv.<\/p>\n

Bortset fra h\u00e6ftet omfatter Stepping Stones ambitioner for fremtiden at forts\u00e6tte med deres onlineaktiviteter, men det egentlige m\u00e5l er at finde sammen igen. Bill og Kate bliver konstant kontaktet af gruppemedlemmer, som l\u00e6nges efter at komme tilbage til workshops og pr\u00f8ver. Vi deler deres h\u00e5b om, at regelm\u00e6ssige workshops og pr\u00f8ver snart bliver mulige, og at de endelig kan opf\u00f8re deres udskudte produktion af \"Have You Heard The One?\".<\/p>\n
