Ce qui se trouve sur la pochette va-t-il faire ou d\u00e9faire votre prochain achat de musique ? Jetons un coup d'\u0153il \u00e0 l'origine de cette id\u00e9e.<\/h3>\n<p>Depuis les premiers disques vendus en 1910 jusqu'en 1938, vous les receviez dans une simple enveloppe brune portant le nom de la maison de disques. \u00c0 cette \u00e9poque, les disques n'\u00e9taient pas des objets que l'on pouvait feuilleter et \u00e9taient vendus dans les magasins d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 ; il fallait conna\u00eetre l'enregistrement souhait\u00e9 et le demander au vendeur.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30702\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/beethovenblog.jpg\" alt=\"Couvertures d&#039;albums\" width=\"600\" height=\"250\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pour une industrie qui se nourrit de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9, il n'y avait rien d'autre que la musique sur le disque lui-m\u00eame pour attirer les auditeurs. Le premier pas a \u00e9t\u00e9 franchi dans les ann\u00e9es 1920, lorsque les pochettes vides ont \u00e9t\u00e9 reli\u00e9es en grands \"albums\" semblables \u00e0 des livres, selon le concept de l'album photo ; l\u00e0 encore, ces couvertures reli\u00e9es par des cartes ou du cuir ressemblaient bien plus \u00e0 des livres cartonn\u00e9s qu'aux albums d'aujourd'hui.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30691\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/electrola2.jpg\" alt=\"Couvertures d&#039;albums\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>En 1938, Columbia records a engag\u00e9 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alexsteinweiss.com\/as_index.html\">Alex Steinweiss<\/a> En tant que premier directeur artistique, c'est \u00e0 Steinweiss que l'on doit la conception de la pochette d'album telle que nous la connaissons aujourd'hui. \u00c0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1940, de nombreuses grandes maisons de disques ont suivi le mouvement en proposant des pochettes en papier et des dessins originaux. Le terme \"album\" a fini par \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour d\u00e9crire les disques de 12 pouces LP (long playing) qui se lisent \u00e0 33<sup>1\/3<\/sup> RPM et, dans les ann\u00e9es 1950, il est devenu le format standard pour les albums.<\/p>\n<p>Ce concept a permis aux artistes de s'exprimer au-del\u00e0 de la musique et, avec l'essor de l'industrie dans les ann\u00e9es 1960, les artistes ont pu s'exprimer \u00e0 travers leurs \u0153uvres d'art autant qu'\u00e0 travers leur musique. L'essor du psych\u00e9d\u00e9lisme au milieu des ann\u00e9es 60 en a \u00e9t\u00e9 un bon exemple, produisant des illustrations d'albums \u00e9labor\u00e9es telles que \"Sgt. Peppers\" des Beatles, \"Odessey and Oracle\" des Zombies et \"The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13\" de l'Orchestre symphonique de Londres.<sup>th<\/sup> Ascenseurs d'\u00e9tage\".<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30694\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/SgtPepper.jpg\" alt=\"Pochettes d&#039;albums - Sgt. Pepper&#039;s\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30688\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/81j3tEDL8FL._SL1280_.jpg\" alt=\"Couvertures d&#039;albums - The Zombies\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30689\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/TPSOSTR.jpg\" alt=\"Couvertures d&#039;albums - The 13th Floor Elevators\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alors que la popularit\u00e9 du disque compact augmentait et que le microsillon prenait un repos m\u00e9rit\u00e9 vers la fin des ann\u00e9es 80, des artistes tels que The Smiths ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 se d\u00e9finir par l'utilisation de la photographie sur leurs pochettes, chacune d'entre elles \u00e9tant \u00e9loign\u00e9e du courant dominant et donnant une impression d'underground et d'obscurit\u00e9.
