Hij richtte ook de school voor grafisch ontwerp op aan de London School of Printing (nu de <a title=\"Wereldleider in design- en media-educatie\" href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.ac.uk\/colleges\/london-college-of-communication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">London College of Communication<\/a>). Zijn collectie bevat voorbeelden van zijn posters en gepubliceerd werk voor organisaties als Guinness, London Transport en het General Post Office.<\/p>\n<p>Ter gelegenheid van de honderdste geboortedag van deze invloedrijke grafisch ontwerper is er een nieuwe tentoonstelling in het London College of Communication (11 - 29 januari 2014) die de enorme bijdrage viert die Tom Eckersley gedurende zes decennia heeft geleverd aan grafisch ontwerp en ontwerpopleidingen in Groot-Brittanni\u00eb als beoefenaar, docent en onbetwistbaar meester van het grafisch ontwerp. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/nl\/posters\/\">poster afdrukken<\/a> ontwerp.<\/p>\n<p>De tentoonstelling bestaat uit 40 posters die zijn geselecteerd uit het Eckersley-archief van de University of the Arts London, dat is ondergebracht in het London College of Communication (LCC), waar Eckersley in 1954 de eerste Britse opleiding voor grafisch ontwerp opzette, aan het toenmalige London College of Printing (LCP). De ontwerpen van Eckersley uit de jaren 1940 tot 1980 zullen te zien zijn op de tentoonstelling.<\/p>\n<p>\"Nergens is de nalatenschap van Tom Eckersley beter voelbaar dan bij LCC, waar het onderwijs en onderzoek op het gebied van grafisch ontwerp zijn geworteld in de eerste bacheloropleiding die hij in 1954 opzette\", zegt professor Lawrence Zeegen, decaan van de School of Design van het London College of Communication. \"Nu het communicatieontwerp en de communicatiemedia in de 21e eeuw steeds verder razen, wordt het steeds relevanter om een moment te vinden om stil te staan bij het verleden van de discipline, te midden van het spervuur van multidisciplinaire, multiplatform, gelaagde visuele boodschappen. Eckersley-feiten<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog was hij cartograaf voor de Royal Air Force.<\/li>\n<li>In 1948 werd hij onderscheiden met de Order of the British Empire (OBE) voor zijn diensten aan het posterdesign.<\/li>\n<li>Tom Eckersley was een van de eerste Britse ontwerpers die lid werd van de Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).<\/li>\n<li>Hij<b> <\/b>bleef tot 1977
