Bij het aanleveren van artwork voor drukwerk moet het uiteindelijke bestand worden voorbereid in CMYK, zodat kleuren nauwkeurig kunnen worden gereproduceerd op de pers. Begrijpen hoe CMYK werkt, helpt verklaren waarom het de standaard blijft voor drukwerk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat betekent CMYK?<\/b><\/h2>\n

CMYK is het kleurenmodel dat wordt gebruikt voor drukwerk. Het beschrijft hoe vier inkten worden gecombineerd op papier om afbeeldingen in full colour te cre\u00ebren. Door artwork in CMYK voor te bereiden, blijven de kleuren binnen het bereik dat met inkt kan worden gereproduceerd.<\/span><\/p>\n

Waar staat CMYK voor?<\/b><\/h2>\n

CMYK verwijst naar de vier inkten die worden gebruikt bij full colour afdrukken:<\/span><\/p>\n

C: Cyaan<\/span>
\n<\/span>M: Magenta<\/span>

Waarom is K de letter voor zwart?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Zwart wordt vertegenwoordigd door K, kort voor Key. Dit weerspiegelt zijn rol als de sleutelplaat die de belangrijkste detail- en uitlijningsinformatie bevat. Cyaan, magenta en geel kunnen worden gecombineerd om donkere tinten te produceren, maar het resultaat is zwak, dus wordt zwarte inkt toegevoegd om diepte en helderheid te geven.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoe werkt CMYK?<\/b><\/h2>\n

CMYK gebruikt een subtractief kleurmodel. Cyaan, magenta en gele inkten absorberen delen van het witte licht dat van het papier weerkaatst. Door de hoeveelheden van deze inkten te vari\u00ebren, kan een breed scala aan kleuren worden geproduceerd. Zwarte inkt versterkt schaduwen en tekst omdat de drie gekleurde inkten alleen geen sterk neutraal zwart kunnen maken.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bij zowel digitaal als lithografisch drukken wordt het beeld opgedeeld in kleine halftoonpuntjes cyaan, magenta, geel en zwart. Digitale persen plaatsen deze puntjes rechtstreeks. Lithografische persen brengen ze over van metalen platen via een rubberen deken. Hoewel de processen verschillen, vertrouwen beide op dezelfde puntjesstructuur, die het oog leest als continue kleur.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoe bereik je met een subtractief model resultaten in full colour?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Een subtractief model werkt door specifieke golflengten van licht te absorberen:<\/span><\/p>\n

Wit min rood produceert cyaan<\/span>
\n<\/span>Wit min groen produceert magenta<\/span>
\n<\/span>Wit min blauw produceert geel<\/span><\/p>\n

Door deze inkten in lagen aan te brengen, bepaal je hoeveel licht er wordt teruggekaatst naar de kijker. Door zwart toe te voegen, vergroot je het bereik van donkere tinten en versterk je fijne details.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat is halftonen?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Halftonen maakt gebruik van punten van verschillende grootte en afstand om continue kleur te reproduceren. Bij een lichtere tint worden kleinere of verder uit elkaar geplaatste stippen gebruikt. Bij een zwaardere tint worden grotere of dichter bij elkaar geplaatste punten gebruikt. Wanneer de punten op normale afstand worden bekeken, vloeien ze visueel in elkaar over, waardoor er vloeiende kleurverlopen en afbeeldingen met volledige kleuren ontstaan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Waarom staat zwart bekend als de hoofdkleur in CMYK?<\/b><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Zwart ondersteunt fijne tekst, scherpe randen en schaduwdetails. Het produceert donkerdere tinten dan een mix van cyaan, magenta en geel en houdt de inktdekking beheersbaar. Als je alleen op de drie gekleurde inkten zou vertrouwen, zou je zware lagen inkt nodig hebben, wat de droging vertraagt en het risico op uitlopen op het papier vergroot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat is een kleurengamma?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Een kleurengamma is het kleurengamma dat een apparaat kan reproduceren. Beeldschermen, camera's en printers hebben elk hun eigen kleurengamma op basis van de manier waarop ze kleuren cre\u00ebren of opnemen. Een scherm kan meer verzadigde kleuren weergeven omdat het licht uitzendt, terwijl een print afhankelijk is van gereflecteerd licht en een beperkte set inkt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Waarin verschilt het CMYK-kleurengamma van RGB?<\/b><\/h2>\n

RGB heeft een groter bereik dan CMYK. Het kan heldere en neonkleuren weergeven die met inkt niet haalbaar zijn. CMYK heeft een kleiner bereik omdat het wordt beperkt door de manier waarop de vier inkten licht absorberen en weerkaatsen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat zijn de verschillen tussen CMYK en RGB?<\/b><\/h2>\n

RGB is een additief kleurmodel dat door beeldschermen wordt gebruikt. Rood, groen en blauw licht worden gecombineerd om de uiteindelijke afbeelding te cre\u00ebren. CMYK is een subtractief model dat wordt gebruikt voor afdrukken. Cyaan, magenta, gele en zwarte inkten absorberen licht om kleur op te bouwen op een wit oppervlak. Omdat de twee modellen verschillend werken, kunnen kleuren die er op het scherm helder uitzien, verschuiven wanneer ze worden omgezet naar het beperktere CMYK-bereik.<\/span><\/p>\n

Waarom zou je artwork in CMYK voorbereiden voor drukwerk?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Designwerk gebeurt op schermen, dus artwork wordt tijdens het maken altijd bekeken in RGB. Wat belangrijk is, is de kleurmodus van het uiteindelijke document. Door het bestand in CMYK in te stellen, blijven de kleuren binnen het bereik dat met inkt kan worden gereproduceerd. Heldere RGB-waarden, zoals neonkleuren en intense verzadigde tinten, vallen vaak buiten het CMYK-gamma. Als de conversie pas bij het exporteren gebeurt, kan de verschuiving aanzienlijk zijn.<\/span><\/p>\n

Als je het bestand vanaf het begin in CMYK voorbereidt, kom je minder voor verrassingen te staan en blijft het drukresultaat dicht bij het beoogde ontwerp.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat zijn ICC-profielen en waarom zijn ze belangrijk?<\/b><\/h2>\n

ICC-profielen beschrijven hoe een specifiek apparaat kleur weergeeft of reproduceert. Elke monitor, pers en proofing workflow gedraagt zich net iets anders. Door het juiste ICC-profiel toe te passen op je artwork, kan het afdrukproces je kleuren zo nauwkeurig mogelijk interpreteren binnen CMYK. Dit vermindert het risico op onverwachte verschuivingen bij het converteren vanuit RGB.<\/span><\/p>\n

Laatste controles voor het aanleveren van artwork<\/b><\/h2>\n

Voordat je je artwork exporteert, moet je controleren of het document is ingesteld op CMYK, of RGB-elementen zijn geconverteerd en of het juiste ICC-profiel is toegepast.
