Pantone-kleuren kunnen echter ook worden overwogen voor bepaalde vereisten.<\/p>\n<p>Bij het afdrukken bestaat een afbeelding uit honderden verschillende combinaties van deze kleuren. Ze worden opgebouwd door ze door een pers te laten gaan, die de verschillende kleuren afzonderlijk opneemt om de gewenste tint te vormen. Of je nu afdrukt op een digitale printer of een offset lithografische printer, de kleuren bestaan uitsluitend uit CMYK, ook wel vierkleurendruk of procesdruk genoemd.<\/p>\n<p>Maar er zijn kleuren die gewoon niet kunnen worden nagemaakt met het CMYK-kleurenproces. Voor deze kleuren kun je een steunkleur of Pantone-kleuren gebruiken.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Pantone kleuren<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Pantone-kleuren lijken erg op verfstalen die je in doe-het-zelfwinkels ziet. Er zijn honderden verschillende tinten en dieptes van kleuren, elk met een toegewezen nummer voor identificatie. Deze tinten worden gemaakt door te mengen uit een palet van 14 basiskleuren - net als verf mengen, maar het proces is heel specifiek. Elke kleur heeft een specifiek recept waarbij de inkt tot een precieze hoeveelheid in een bepaalde volgorde wordt afgewogen en met de hand wordt gemengd door de drukker. De meeste kleuren kunnen ook voorgemengd worden gekocht.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Voor- en nadelen<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Om kleuren te cre\u00ebren, moet een drukmachine de exacte CMYK-balans kennen om de juiste tint te cre\u00ebren. Een van de voordelen van het gebruik van Pantone-kleuren is dat het giswerk volledig wegvalt, omdat het al gemengd is en exact de gewenste tint zal afdrukken. Standaardisatie van kleuren betekent dat je van de ene drukker naar de andere verzekerd bent van consistentie en continu\u00efteit in je drukwerk, vooral als je een specifieke tint gebruikt. Dat wil niet zeggen dat CMYK-afdrukken inferieur zijn. Omdat de printtechnologie zo geavanceerd is geworden, is het voor CMYK in de meeste gevallen eenvoudig om het goed te doen.<\/p>\n<p>Steunkleuren zijn handig als je een specifieke merkuitstraling wilt cre\u00ebren. Neem bijvoorbeeld McDonald's - het felle rood dat in hun huisstijl wordt gebruikt, is een steunkleur. Dit maakt hun logo gemakkelijk herkenbaar. Door steunkleuren te gebruiken in je huisstijl kun je een definitief kleurenpalet cre\u00ebren dat over de hele linie consistent is.<\/p>\n<p>Het nadeel van het gebruik van Pantone-kleuren is dat ze door de materialen en de procedure die nodig zijn om ze te gebruiken aanzienlijk meer kosten dan vierkleurendruk en de doorlooptijden kunnen verlengen.
