{"id":71847,"date":"2022-01-21T17:00:37","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T17:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/?p=71847"},"modified":"2022-08-31T15:35:52","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T14:35:52","slug":"onze-rol-bij-het-drukken-van-verkiezingen-en-het-democratische-proces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/nl\/solopress-news\/our-role-in-election-printing-and-the-democratic-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Onze rol bij het drukken van verkiezingen en het democratische proces"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><p>Solopress is al meer dan 20 jaar gevestigd in Southend-on-Sea in Essex en heeft in die tijd een sterke band opgebouwd met de lokale gemeenschap.<\/p>\n<p>Met het oog op de komende tussentijdse verkiezingen in het kiesdistrict Southend West hebben enkele van onze lokale klanten contact met ons opgenomen om hun bezorgdheid te uiten over de aard van het verkiezingsmateriaal dat ze hebben ontvangen en dat door ons is gedrukt.<\/p>\n<p>Met de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen later dit jaar in het vooruitzicht, dachten we van deze gelegenheid gebruik te maken om de rol van drukwerk bij verkiezingen te verkennen en ons standpunt toe te lichten als het gaat om het al dan niet afdrukken van controversi\u00eble inhoud.<\/p>\n<p>In de regel proberen wij als bedrijf geen politieke positie in te nemen door onze diensten te censureren of te onthouden aan politieke partijen die geregistreerd staan bij de Kiescommissie. Onze rol in het proces is slechts het drukken van legaal verkiezingsmateriaal volgens de instructies. Dit principe is van toepassing op onze samenwerking met alle geregistreerde partijen, ongeacht hun positie in het politieke spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>We proberen echter wel materiaal te identificeren en weg te gooien waarvan we denken dat het de wet overtreedt en in deze gevallen hebben we eerder overlegd met de politie van Essex om hun standpunt te horen. In het verleden hebben we actie ondernomen om de productie van dergelijk materiaal te stoppen.<\/p>\n<p>Het opsporen van deze opdrachten is echter niet eenvoudig. Als online drukkerij waar artwork wordt aangeleverd via onze website met weinig tot geen menselijke tussenkomst, is het extreem moeilijk om de vele duizenden opdrachten die elke week door onze persen gaan te controleren, vooral omdat de meeste van onze processen geautomatiseerd zijn.<\/p>\n<p>Ons team hier wordt aangemoedigd om hun ogen open te houden voor alles wat onze algemene voorwaarden schendt, maar dit systeem is niet waterdicht.<\/p>\n<p>Een vraag die ons is gesteld, is waarom onze naam op deze folders staat en of dit betekent dat wij de standpunten die erin staan onderschrijven. Het antwoord hierop is dat het wettelijk verplicht is om de naam en het adres van de drukker op al het verkiezingsmateriaal te vermelden. Dit wordt een 'opdruk' genoemd en houdt geen politieke goedkeuring in namens de genoemde drukker. Je kunt meer te weten komen over opdrukken op <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electoralcommission.org.uk\/i-am-a\/voter\/imprints-election-campaign-material\">De website van de kiescommissie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ten slotte, en dat is heel belangrijk, geloven we dat het bij verkiezingen van cruciaal belang is dat de kiezers weten en begrijpen waar elke kandidaat voor staat voordat ze naar de stembus gaan. Zo kunnen ze een weloverwogen beslissing nemen en hun stem uitbrengen op de kandidaat die het beste hun eigen standpunten en overtuigingen vertegenwoordigt.<\/p>\n<p>Als het gaat om zoiets belangrijks als onze democratie, mag onwetendheid geen zegen zijn. Wij geloven dat alle kandidaten het recht hebben om met de kiezers te delen waarom ze op hen zouden moeten stemmen, zolang ze dat op een wettige manier doen en volgens de regels van de kiescommissie. We geloven ook dat de kiezers op basis van hun beleid de kans verdienen om de kandidaat te kiezen die het meest geschikt is om hen te vertegenwoordigen, wat alleen kan worden bereikt door te begrijpen waar elke kandidaat voor staat.<\/p>\n<p>Verkiezingsdrukwerk is geen gemakkelijk onderwerp en het zal altijd tot onenigheid en verdeeldheid leiden - net als de politiek zelf.
