De 'David Bowie is<\/a><\/strong>De tentoonstelling, die nu tot begin augustus te zien is in het Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) in Londen, is van de ene op de andere dag een sensatie geworden, grotendeels dankzij de ongekende toegang van het V&A tot het omvangrijke archief van David Bowie met muziek, video's, film, fotografie, kostuums, handgeschreven songteksten, decorontwerpen en andere memorabilia.<\/p>\n

Er wordt gezegd dat The Archer van de Station to Station tour uit 1976 een van David Bowie's favoriete foto's aller tijden van hemzelf is. Volgens de offici\u00eble website van Bowie nam de beroemde rockfotograaf John Rowlands de foto vanaf ongeveer 30 meter afstand van het Station to Station podium en hij geeft zijn Hasselblad camera de credits voor het produceren van een foto met zo'n scherp contrast van wit, zwart en grijs.<\/p>\n

David Bowie<\/a> werd geboren in 1947 in Brixton, Londen. In die tijd stond hij nog bekend als David Robert Jones. Hij nam officieel de artiestennaam David Bowie aan in 1965 toen zijn professionele zang- en acteercarri\u00e8re serieus begon. Space Oddity, dat toevallig samenviel met NASA's bemande maanlanding in 1969, was Bowie's eerste grote hitsingle.<\/p>\n

BBC TWO, in samenwerking met de V&A, zal in mei ook een uitgebreid profiel uitzenden van de legendarische David Bowie.
