Hier bij Solopress waren we verheugd toen we gevraagd werden om rolbanners en merchandise te ontwerpen en te drukken voor Strictly Come Dancing sterren Katya Jones en Lewis Cope. Lewis Cope, vooral bekend om zijn rol als Nicky Milligan in de ITV soap Emmerdale, was in het seizoen 2025 gekoppeld aan de professionele danseres Katya Jones. Na hun schokkende exit uit de show besloten ze hun passie voor dans te blijven delen.<\/p>\n

Het tweetal begon aan een nieuw avontuur door samen een dansworkshop te leiden. Ze cre\u00eberden de workshop zodat dansers van alle niveaus plezier kunnen beleven aan het dansen met deze twee geweldige professionals.<\/p>\n

Met een ruimte zonder merknaam hadden ze een manier nodig om deze tot leven te brengen en een gedenkwaardige ervaring te cre\u00ebren. Ze wilden ook een reeks aandenkens aanbieden die de groep kon kopen. Hier kwam het Solodesign-team om de hoek kijken.<\/p>\n

Het logo maken<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Onze ontwerpers hebben de rolbanners en het ontwerp van het merch-logo helemaal opnieuw gemaakt op basis van alleen de briefing en de geleverde afbeeldingen. Ik sprak met Richard Kemp, die meewerkte aan dit project, en hij vertelde me over het logo-ontwerp dat hij had gemaakt. Katya stelde beelden en grafische stijlen voor om te gebruiken als inspiratie en vroeg hem om een sprankelende en gebogen look te cre\u00ebren. Richard gebruikte verschillende ontwerptechnieken om de juiste lay-out en kromming van de tekst te cre\u00ebren, zoals Envelope Distort in Adobe Illustrator. Het logo dat hij cre\u00eberde straalt T-shirts<\/a> en Tote tassen<\/a> om merchandise te maken zodat deelnemers aan de workshops aandenkens konden meenemen.<\/p>\n

De ins en outs van de lay-out en het ontwerp van rollerbanners<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We spraken met Emma Smith, de hoofdontwerper van dit project, om wat insiderinformatie te krijgen. Ze vertelde ons dat ze aanvankelijk wat zenuwen voelde bij dit project, omdat het werken met bekende beroemdheden \u201cextra druk met zich meebracht om geen fouten te maken en aan de opdracht te voldoen\u201d. Emma vertelde verder dat ze een groot gevoel van verantwoordelijkheid voelde om te slagen en in de toekomst een kans te krijgen met Katya Jones.<\/p>\n

Emma deed veel onderzoek voordat ze aan het project begon om er zeker van te zijn dat ze volledig en nauwkeurig aan de opdracht kon voldoen. Haar onderzoek begon met het bekijken van verschillende achtergronden die in dansbanners worden gebruikt om inzicht te krijgen in de benodigde stijl. De opdracht vermeldde discoballen, heldere, leuke beelden en specifieke kleuren. Emma hield contact met Katya Jones om er zeker van te zijn dat haar ontwerpen in de juiste richting gingen. \u201cKatya leek zich aangetrokken te voelen tot paars, dus bleef ik bij dat thema.\u201d Ze bleef de visie tot leven brengen door de aangeleverde afbeeldingen te verfijnen en te bewerken, zodat ze perfect pasten bij de afmetingen en stijl van de rolbanners.<\/p>\n

De kracht van teamwerk en leren<\/strong><\/h2>\n

De rest van het ontwerpteam ondersteunde Emma tijdens het hele ontwerpproces door tips en nieuwe Photoshop-vaardigheden te delen, zodat ze de beste resultaten kon bereiken. \u201cZe hielpen me met motiveren en gaven hun creatieve input, ze zijn een geweldig team.\u201d<\/p>\n

De grootste uitdaging waar Emma voor stond, was het verfijnen van haar Photoshop-vaardigheden. Het was haar minst gebruikte bewerkingssoftware, dus ze stond onder druk om snel te leren om werk van topkwaliteit te produceren en toch de deadline te halen.<\/p>\n

Emma's grootste succes was het zien van haar ontwerp in actie en op sociale media. Ze beschreef het als een \u201cheel trots moment\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

De resultaten zijn in<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Het eindproduct was een geweldige prestatie en het Solodesign-team heeft veel lof gekregen van zowel collega's in het Solopress-team als op sociale media. Katya Jones zei: \u201cJullie zijn zo goed geweest in het ontwerpen en cre\u00ebren van alle producten voor ons! Ik kan jullie niet genoeg bedanken\u201d.<\/p>\n
