A pr\u00f3pria palavra remonta ao n\u00f3rdico antigo \"brandr\", que significa \"queimar\". Nas empresas actuais, \u00e9 vista como uma ferramenta que pode fazer ou desfazer uma empresa, dependendo da forma como \u00e9 utilizada para criar consci\u00eancia. Al\u00e9m disso, o conhecimento da marca ajuda os clientes a compreenderem quais os produtos ou servi\u00e7os espec\u00edficos que s\u00e3o vendidos sob essa marca.<\/p>\n<p>A ideia de compreens\u00e3o da marca pode ser rastreada at\u00e9 \u00e0 natureza com a forma como certos insectos, como as vespas e as abelhas, t\u00eam riscas amarelas e pretas, cores que ainda hoje s\u00e3o utilizadas para representar sinais de precau\u00e7\u00e3o. Na sequ\u00eancia disto, h\u00e1 cerca de 32.000 anos, as pinturas rupestres eram outra forma de mostrar significado atrav\u00e9s de representa\u00e7\u00f5es visuais. As origens da marca s\u00e3o muito mais simples do que o equivalente da era moderna, que est\u00e1 sempre envolto em mist\u00e9rio: o gado era marcado para significar propriedade. Uma forma simples de simplificar a posse e, ao longo do tempo, certas \"marcas\" come\u00e7aram a conotar qualidade quando preferidas a outras. \u00c0 medida que a ideia de identificar diferentes marcas com um determinado sinal se foi generalizando, passou a ser aplicada a toda uma s\u00e9rie de produtos. N\u00e3o podemos esquecer que, por muito impressionante que tenha sido, a decis\u00e3o abriu as portas ao inesquec\u00edvel toque de telem\u00f3vel da Nokia...
