Especially during those excruciatingly tedious double maths lessons at school. But New York aviator and industrial designer <strong>Shai Goitein<\/strong> of <a title=\"Makers of electric paper airplanes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.poweruptoys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>PowerUp Toys<\/strong><\/a> has taken the humble paper plane to a whole new level. These babies can REALLY fly\u2026 staying airborne for up to 10 minutes at a time, rather than the mere 10 seconds of an average paper aeroplain.<\/p>\n<p>Goitein\u2019s <a title=\"Smartphone-Controlled Paper Airplane on Kickstarter\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/393053146\/powerup-30-smartphone-controlled-paper-airplane\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PowerUp 3.0 Paper Airplane<\/a>, which turns your self-made paper airplane into a high-tech, smartphone-controlled flying machine, has already secured funding of over $1.1 million from nearly 20,000 investors on the popular Kickstarter inventions site. The original target to back this project was only $50,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPowerUp Toys has introduced a new form of play by meshing origami classics with technology,\u201d says Shai Goitein. \u201cThis time we took a big leap forward, by integrating state-of-the-art Bluetooth Smart technology into our PowerUp design. Now you can easily control a simple homemade paper airplane with your smartphone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13612\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/powerup-paper-plane-how-it-works-diagram.jpg\" alt=\"PowerUp plane how it works diagram\" width=\"650\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13614\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solopress.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/powerup-paper-plane-prototypes.jpg\" alt=\"PowerUp paper plane prototypes\" width=\"650\" height=\"637\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>High Flyer<\/h2>\n<p>The PowerUp 3.0 Paper Airplane comes with a crash-proof carbon fibre frame and will fly for up to 10 minutes on a single battery charge.
