You&#8217;re then able to use all the functions available in InDesign to edit and add to your document.<\/p>\n<p>To add a PDF image in InDesign, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create an <strong>InDesign<\/strong> document.<\/li>\n<li>Match the dimensions and number of pages to the <strong>PDF <\/strong>you&#8217;re importing.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the <strong>File <\/strong>menu, and click <strong>Place<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Place<\/strong> dialog window, check the <strong>S<\/strong><strong>how Import Options<\/strong> box.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click on the <strong>PDF<\/strong> you wish to import.<\/li>\n<li>Check your preferences in the <strong>Place PDF <\/strong>dialog window, and click<strong> OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>InDesign <\/strong>document to place the image.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re importing multiple pages, click on each.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These are the basic steps to follow when you add a PDF into an InDesign document. Here\u2019s how.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Firstly, create your InDesign document to the dimensions of the PDF you\u2019re importing. You can check this by opening your document in Adobe Acrobat and pressing Ctrl \/ Cmd D. This will open up the document properties, and we can see in the Advanced section what the page size is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We can then go back to InDesign and create the document to this size. If you\u2019re importing the whole document, you\u2019ll need to make sure that you\u2019ve created enough pages within the document.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To start the process, go to File, then click Place. When the Place File dialog window is open, quickly check the \u201cShow Import Options\u201d. There are a few options you can change here, for example cropping options and the pages you\u2019d like to import. There\u2019s also a layers tab, but usually PDFs are flattened so yours may not appear here.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just a quick reminder, it\u2019s easiest to import without having to resize if you\u2019ve matched the InDesign document to the exact dimensions of the PDF.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click OK, then click on the document to place the image. If you\u2019ve imported multiple pages, you\u2019ll need to click on the different pages to place these slides. Otherwise, you can resize the images or make any additions to the document.
