Customer Stories: Charity Mugs for Lady McAdden

Lady McAdden Customer Story Header

At Solopress, we believe in the power of print to make a meaningful impact, especially when supporting good causes. Our recent collaboration on charity mugs with Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust exemplifies this commitment. This Southend-based charity is dedicated to promoting early detection of breast cancer through advice, education, and awareness—truly vital work.

Designing with love

In anticipation of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2025, we partnered with Lady McAdden to create a bespoke charity mug design aimed at raising awareness and sparking conversations about breast health. Emma Smith from our Design Service took on the project, crafting a design that embodies compassion and support.

The mug we chose was a classic straight-sided, white 330ml Ceramic Mug. Emma’s design features the words ‘love,’ ‘hope,’ ‘care,’ and ‘life’—positive and supportive sentiments that align well with Lady McAdden’s mission. The design also features the charity’s name and contact details, and the two-tone pink colour scheme complements their logo and branding. The design was printed using dye-sublimation, a technique that ensures full-colour artwork wraps around the mug’s surface. Whatsmore, they’re also dishwasher-proof, for an enduring message.

Emma shared her thoughts on the experience:

I’ll always treasure this opportunity to create something beautiful yet purposeful for such an incredible charity. The positive messages included in the design are there to express compassion and support for those affected by breast cancer. I hope the hashtag encourages people to share their stories, and to know that they’re not alone.” Emma Smith, Solopress Design Service

Francesca Watkins from Lady McAdden expressed her appreciation for the collaboration:

We are so lucky that we are supported regularly by Solopress for our printing needs, but this was an extra special project. Solopress got in touch with us to collaborate on a mug for International Women’s Day, and we’re so pleased we’ve been able to be a part of the project.” Francesca Watkins, Lady McAdden

Among Lady McAdden’s busy schedule of events and fundraising activities, are coffee mornings and workshops that will now be enhanced by these beautifully branded mugs.

Raising awareness

The mugs were just one part of Lady McAdden’s International Women’s Day activities. On 7th March, the charity hosted its ‘Ladies That Lunch’ event at the Holiday Inn, Southend, bringing supporters together to mark the occasion and continue important conversations about women’s health. The mugs served as a lasting reminder of the charity’s message, helping to extend awareness beyond the event itself.

We also took to social media, sharing the project across our channels to widen its reach. Our posts highlighted the role of impactful design in sparking conversations and raising awareness, reinforcing how print can be a powerful tool in supporting women’s health charities.

Our collaboration with Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust is part of our ongoing commitment to support charities and initiatives that make a difference. We look forward to future projects that combine creativity and purpose to benefit our community.
