Solopress staff moustache up for Movember men’s health charity

Solopress staff moustache it up

Southend-on-Sea, Essex – November 1, 2012 – Solopress, the UK’s leading online printing company, are going Movember mad once again and donating our top lips to grow moustaches this month and help raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

Solopress co-founders Andy Smith and Aron Priest are leading the way during this fuzz-faced month formerly known as November. Joining them are Adam Wilson-Bowen (director of operations), Albert Gjonaj (IT), Ash Smith (dispatch), Ben Mills (design), Bobby East (sales), Dan Webber (dispatch), Daniel Smith (printer), Gary Toomey (sales), Jack Clifford (sales), James Caten (finishing), Kevin Seaden (sales), Mark Walker (design), Nick Slesser (driver), Rob Lagden (pre-press), Shaun Slater (technologist), Simon Penny (design), Steve Davey (finishing) and Trevor Priest (pre-press).

All of these macho Solopress men are feeling man enough to grow a Movember Moustache for charity, while still being seen out in public for the entire 30 days. Our factory will probably look more like the set of 1960’s spaghetti western than a high-tech commercial printers by the time November 30th arrives!

Since its humble beginnings in Australia, the annual Movember charity campaign is now supported by over 1.9 million participants worldwide. Last year, more than 854,000 Mo Bros and Sistas raised £79.3 million for this good cause.

“Moustaches, they start their life as itchy fetal growths on the upper lip. But give it time, nurture it and before you know it, you will have a sexy, manly, hair balcony to compliment your face hole,” says Solopress’ Movember team captain Adam Wilson-Bowen. “Brilliant! What better excuse to festoon your face with follicle foliage, than Movember?!”

  1. Attempting Movember myself….got to change from the Wiggo sideburns – nothing like creeping people out with a good handlebar mo 😉

  2. The movember thing is great, good effort. I recon someone should pull together an negative mustache…full beard with the shape of your desired mustache shaved out of it.

    Win

  3. It is crazy how movember went from being a terrible Australian faux-ironic thing to a worldwide phenomenon. It is like the fashion mullet all over again, sigh. Good thing I left.

  4. Good on ya for getting involved! My fella’s going for it for the first time this year, but he’a a bit worried it might grow grey!

  5. I don’t mind my husband growing a tash lol. It makes him look older for once as without it, he looks very young.

  6. What a fantastic cause to raise awareness of. Refreshing to see a company supporting this cause and not showing staff negativity for supporting the cause. Well done!
