After revamping a neglected church in Loughborough for use as a community centre, how will the fundraisers publicise the St Peter’s Centre launch event next month? Flyers of course!
St Peter’s Church in Loughborough is officially reopening as a community centre on Saturday 17th August, thanks to the fundraising efforts of church groups Open Heaven and Elim Pentecostal Church.
The newly revamped and renamed St Peter’s Centre, a grade II-listed building, will host a wide range of events and services for the local community such as toddler groups, counselling, dance classes, live music and a cookery cafe for the elderly.
Ness Wilson, leader of Open Heaven, told the Leicester Mercury local newspaper:
“St Peter’s Centre will provide a safe and welcoming space for people to meet others and, if they wish to, access the spiritual activities that will be an integral part of the life of St Peter’s Centre.”
