Job of the Week
Solopress have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Print Finisher. So if you know your Muller machine from a Müller yoghurt, please get in touch with us today. We are looking for people with the following skills and experience -
Skills:
- Fast and accurate print finisher
- Must be literate and numerate in order to be able to understand the instructions for each job, but qualifications are not essential
- Must be computer literate to be able to operate computer applications in order to carry out your daily work
- All rounder - Ability to operate the guillotines, perfect binding machines, saddle stitching lines, automatic laminating lines, creasing machines, folding machines
- Ability to program the machines
Experience:
- Experience in the print industry essential
- Experience with using a Muller, MBO, Cylinder, Platen, Laminating machine and the Guillotine required
- Flexible attitude willing to work with the team to get the job completed
Main Duties:
- Guillotine cutting, Folding, Booklet / Brochure Making, Perfect Binding, Creasing, Perforating, Large Format Trimming, Laminating
- Learn and operate other finishing machinery as new equipment is installed
- Perform operator maintenance of finishing equipment
- Help maintain a high level of safety, cleanliness and organisation around the workplace
- Comply with all company and HSE Health & Safety rules
- Pack boxes for shipping/delivery
- To abide by and support the company’s ISO 9000 and 14001 and FSC QMS
Reception
We're looking for a Receptionist in our front office. Attention to detail and a warm friendly professional manner are essential as you'll be dealing with walk-in customers and phone enquiries. Hours vary, but are typically 10am until 6pm or noon until 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Despatch
We're looking for Despatch Co-ordinators to work in our busy despatch and deliveries department. Ideally, you will have experience of working in the despatch control room of a transport company. You must be PC literate, have great communication skills and be able to provide flawless customer service at all times.
Sales
We're looking for experienced Telesales Executives with awesome customer relationship skills and a proven track record of achieving ambitious sales targets. Candidates with print sales experience and an existing portfolio of clients will go straight to the top of our shortlist!
Printing - Litho
We're looking for experienced Printers for running our Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 lithographic printing presses. Shifts will be a mixture of days and nights including weekends.
Printing - Digital
We're looking for experienced Digital Printers for running our Xerox iGen 4 and Xerox 700 digital colour presses. Shifts will be a mixture of days and nights including weekends.
Finishing
We’re looking for Print Finishers with years of EXPERIENCE and a friendly manner, along with a keen eye for detail and a flexible approach to shift work and overtime.
You MUST have experience of:
- Folding
- Stitching
- Guillotine
Design
We're looking for experienced Designers/Artworkers. You should be capable of producing original and creative ideas in print and must have excellent skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

Drivers
We’re looking for experienced multi drop Delivery Van Drivers for London and the surrounding areas, hours vary, initially for a 3-month period with the possibility of this leading to a permanent position for the right candidates. Applicants must hold a clean driving licence, be punctual and reliable.
