Graphic Designer

Solopress are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our in-house design team. You should be capable of quickly producing original and creative ideas in print and must have excellent skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.


  •     Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  •     Excellent customer care – both verbally and written
  •     Good telephone manner
  •     Excellent communication skills
  •     Must work as part of a small team
  •     Good understanding of the print industry and reproduction of artwork


  •     Experience in the print industry desirable but not essential
  •     Must be experienced in designing leaflets, stationery, logo design and brochures
  •     Experience of working from client design briefs
  •     Must be capable from seeing the job from initial brief through to print ready artwork
  •     Experienced in using Apple Mac (Adobe Creative Suite)
  •     Experienced in dealing with customers

Main Duties:

  •     Create designs from the information supplied from the sales team
  •     Work to clients’ design briefs to create artwork for print
  •     Liaise with the sales team and the pre press department
  •     Update the company’s system at each stage of the process
  •     Ensure the quality of job output for correctness and image quality

Bench Hand

  • Previous warehouse / packing experience would be advantageous but is not essential

Main Duties:

  • Packing jobs ready for despatch
  • Preparing packaging for jobs to despatch
  • Assisting Print Finishers where necessary

Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week, shifts TBC

Salary: National Minimum Wage with a view to increase

Print Finisher

  • Experience in the online print industry is not essential as training will be provided


  • Various print finishing roles
  • Learn and operate finishing machinery

Hours: Monday - Friday, Full-Time

Salary: £300 - £400 per week

IT Assistant

You’ll be at the very busy front-line, dealing directly with employees who have technical issues such as forgotten passwords, viruses or email issues.


  • A working knowledge of IT operating systems and platforms, particularly Mac OS X, Windows, Kerio Connect and FileMaker
  • A working knowledge of both the hardware and software of networking and communications systems, particularly TCP/IP, VoIP. Ethernet
  • Organisational skills

  • Capable of working well under pressure
  • Enthusiasm to be continually learning

Main Duties:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades
  • Talking to computer users to determine the nature of problems
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults
  • Repairing equipment and replacing parts
  • Obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures or fittings
  • Maintaining records of software licenses
  • Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies.
  • Liaising with hardware and software suppliers to order equipment and software used by the company
  • Shift and on-call work may be required, particularly where computing equipment is in continual 24-hour operation.

Salary: £300 - £400 per week depending on experience.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Overtime will be required where necessary.

Large Format Printer


  • Knowledge of Photoshop
  • Understanding of large format printing workflow and colour management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must work as part of a team


  • Experienced in setting and running large format digital machinery
  • Must be capable from seeing the job from initial brief through to print ready artwork
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment ensuring high standards are kept at all times
  • Experience using an Epson Stylus Pro 9700 is desirable

Main Duties:

  • To undertake preparation of files and printing of large format digital jobs as requested.
  • Printing banners and posters
  • Update the system at each stage of the process
  • Ensure the quality of job output for correctness and image quality
  • Cutting to correct size with trimmer
  • Packing jobs ready for despatch

Live Chat Advisor

We’re currently looking for a Live Chat Advisor to join our Sales/Live Chat department.


  • A knowledge of print is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work as a team


  • Customer service / sales experience essential
  • Excellent organisational skills

Main Duties:

  • Using our online chat service to type to live customers providing quotes
  • Answering any queries the customer may have or providing them with the relevant information of someone who can help
  • Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships when providing estimates and quotes

This is a full time role based at the Solopress premises in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
