Font of the Day: Beer Type

Beer Type by Rogerio Oliveira

Think of Brazil right now and you’ll probably conjure up images of the World Cup, carnival and TV sports reporters desperately looking for England football fans to interview down on Copacabana beach. But Brazilian typography designer Rogerio Oliveira from Sao Paulo is more interested in beer and type…

Rogerio Oliveira’s quirky Beer Type project has been inspired by the various types of bottles, cans and glasses used by breweries to serve up our amber nectar of choice. Even more amazingly, the end result isn’t as bad as this beer mat inspiration sounds.

This isn’t the first time that Oliveira has looked around the kitchen to help get his creative juices flowing. Typography Cookies, or ‘Biscoitos Tipográficos’ as they say in Brazil, is a font that really does look good enough to eat.

  1. Excellent article! We are linking to this particularly great content on our website.
    Keep up the great writing.

  2. The font is without a doubt original, I really like it, in fact is it available on any font websites?

  3. Well its definitely a million times better than Arial – which is not based on beer which can be spilled incorrectly but on a laundry detergent which has been spelled incorrectly.
