Solopress raise £1,951 for Wear It Pink

Wear it Pink Solopress

What is Wear It Pink?

Wear It Pink is one of the biggest and most recognised fundraising events in the UK. Falling right in the midst of breast cancer awareness month, thousands of people in offices, schools and their communities all take part to raise money for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity.

All of the funding Wear It Pink receives goes directly to life-saving treatments and research on how to further develop our understanding of the disease and ways to prevent it. So for such a good cause, it was the perfect fit for Solopress.

The big day

Our Recruitment & HR team enjoying the pink festivities

After weeks of planning the big day finally arrived for us all to wear pink. We had plenty of activities planned to raise money including a cake bake sale, pink-themed games and activities, wearing pink clothing and donating £1 from every single transaction we recieved on the day.

The day was a big success with a great buzz around all of our sites. With plenty of people wearing pink, eating cake and contributing to the cause, it was great to be able to take part in such an event on a company-wide scale. Wear It Pink is a cause close to some of our staff’s hearts so being able to contribute in some way to help fight back was a privilege for the for us.

The cakes went down a treat, we managed to get through pretty much all of them by day’s end! We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our staff for bringing in cakes, wearing pink and doing anything they could to help raise money.

The result

After collecting all of the donation boxes, crunching the order numbers and doing the final collection rounds, we are incredibly proud to be able to say we managed to raise £1,951 from our day of pink-fuelled fun and activities.

We are very proud of all of our staff for taking part and helping us raise this amount for charity. We’d also like to extend a very warm thank you to all of our wonderful customers. We were fully committed to donating £1 from every transaction so it was a pleasure to have our customers help us reach our grand total.

Congratulations are also in order for Marc Cole, our Sales Ledger Executive on winning our Pink hamper competition. Very well done Marc! Marc managed to guess the closest amount to the 120 pink balloons in our guessing game.
