Originally from Melbourne in Australia, self-confessed creative tinkerer Matt Chalwell is obviously in love with his current “amazing and crazy” Californian surroundings, as he’s created a new typeface that illustrates and celebrates the world famous landmarks of San Francisco.

From Alcatraz and cable cars to Coit Tower and the Golden Gate Bridge, each letter in this beautiful typographical work of art is accompanied by one of the city’s most popular attractions.

“My design skill set is broad, but most of the recent work I’ve been doing falls into the illustration and branding niche,” says Matt Chalwell. “When not working with clients, I spend time on side projects, hang with my family and just generally get amongst life.”

Sadly, Matt Chalwell’s San Francisco Landmarks typeface is only available right now as a handmade print, not a downloadable font.

  1. Gorgeous. This opens up alot of opportunities for marketing a City or Town. Im thinking a feature wall of wallpaper or as a watermark for stationery, as well as a font in itself.
