Trap

In graphic design and printing, trap refers to the small overlapping area between colours.

Its purpose is to prevent any unwanted white space that could appear due to poor alignment or movement during the printing process.

The slight overlap, usually only a fraction of a millimetre, ensures a seamless transition between colours and maintains the overall aesthetic quality of the print.

Trapping is particularly important when dealing with intricate designs and high-quality professional prints.
