Developer refers to the chemical solution used in photographic and lithographic processes to make visible the latent image on photographic or plate material.

It transforms the exposed areas into a visible form, thus developing the image that can then be transferred onto a print medium.

It plays an essential role in traditional printing techniques, such as offset lithography.
