Plate

In printing, a plate refers to a thin, flat carrier that has been treated or engraved with an image or text to be printed.

It is an essential component in traditional printing techniques like lithography and letterpress.

The plate is inked and then pressed onto a medium (such as paper or cardstock), transferring the image or text onto that medium.
