Plate Cylinder

A plate cylinder is a vital component in rotary printing presses.

It's a rotating cylinder where the printing plate is mounted.

This plate carries the image to be printed and transfers it to the paper or other substrate.

The image on the plate is inked and then pressed onto a rubber blanket cylinder, which in turn transfers the image onto the paper.

This indirect method of printing ensures a high-quality print output and prolongs the lifespan of the printing plates.
