RIP (Raster Image Processor)

A Raster Image Processor (RIP) is a component in the printing process that converts the digital image file into a format the printer can interpret and print.

The RIP translates the vector graphics and text into a raster format – a pixel grid, effectively translating the digital design into a physical print.

An advanced RIP also handles tasks like colour management and halftoning, ensuring optimal print quality and efficiency.
