Typography refers to the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed.

It involves the selection of typefaces, point sizes, line lengths, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space between pairs of letters (kerning).

Typography can greatly influence the perception and effectiveness of a printed piece, enabling the communication of certain feelings or messages.
